This Privacy Policy describes how EDGE SA ("the Company", "We", "Us", "Our") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use the Quick Check App mobile application ("the Application", "the Service"). Please read this policy carefully before using the Application.

2. Who This App Is For

Quick Check App is designed for use by trained maintenance technicians and organizations involved in industrial operations. Access to the Application requires a valid Technician ID issued by EDGE SA. The Application is not directed to individuals under the age of 18.

3. What Data We Collect

3.1 Authentication Data

Technician ID, Full Name, and Business Email: This information is pre-registered by EDGE SA for account management and is accessed upon login. The Application uses these identifiers to authenticate the technician, personalize the interface, and associate maintenance reports with the responsible professional. This data is stored securely on the device using encrypted storage (expo-secure-store).

3.2 Location Data

Geographic location (precise GPS): Collected while performing maintenance tasks to record the exact location where each task was carried out. This data is associated with maintenance reports submitted through the Application.
Location is only accessed while the app is in use (when-in-use).

3.3 Camera Data

QR code scanning: The camera is used exclusively to scan QR codes affixed to industrial equipment for fast identification and data pre-filling in maintenance forms. No images or video are stored or transmitted.

3.4 Audio Playback

The Application uses expo-audio exclusively to play a short beep sound as feedback when a QR code is successfully scanned. No audio is recorded, no microphone access is required, and no audio data is collected or transmitted.

3.5 Maintenance and Operational Data

Maintenance checklists and inspection reports completed by the technician.
Equipment identifiers and status records.
Timestamps and dates of each maintenance activity.
Replenishment and calibration records.

3.6 Device and Technical Data

Device model, operating system version and Application version.
Network Connectivity: We monitor connectivity status (via NetInfo) to manage offline data queuing and synchronization.
Error logs and crash diagnostics (used to improve app stability).

3.7 Data We Do NOT Collect

Personal contact details unrelated to the business entity (e.g., personal home addresses or private phone numbers).
Payment or financial information.
Social media profiles or external account data.
Background location (location is only accessed while the application is open and in use).

While the Application processes business identifiers (Technician ID, Name, and Email), these are used strictly for operational purposes within EDGE SA systems and are not shared with third parties for marketing or tracking.

While we do not collect direct personal identifiers, certain operational data (such as Technician ID and location data) may be associated with an identifiable user within EDGE SA systems.

4. Device Permissions

Background tasks are used strictly for data synchronization purposes and do not access location data or any device sensors while the app is running in the background.

Note: The application utilizes standard technical libraries (such as React Native Screens and Gesture Handler) to manage the user interface and navigation; these do not access, collect, or store any personal data.

All permissions are used strictly for operational functionality and not for advertising, profiling, or tracking. You can revoke any permission at any time through your device's system settings.

5. How We Use Your Data

To authenticate the technician and provide access to the Application.
To create and store maintenance, inspection, and replenishment records.
To associate location data with maintenance activities for operational traceability.
To synchronize records with Company servers when an internet connection is available.
To detect and resolve technical issues and crashes in the Application.
To comply with legal and regulatory obligations related to industrial maintenance records.

We do not use your data for advertising, behavioural profiling, or any purpose unrelated to maintenance operations.

Processing of data is based on the legitimate interest of EDGE SA in managing industrial maintenance operations and on the contractual relationship with authorized technicians.

6. Third-Party Services

The Application uses the following third-party service:

Losant IoT Platform

We use Losant (losant.com) as a backend platform for:

Technician authentication via webhook (validation of Technician ID and token issuance).
Transmission and storage of maintenance report data.
Industrial device monitoring and management.

Data transmitted to Losant is subject to Losant's Privacy Policy. EDGE SA maintains a data processing agreement with Losant to ensure appropriate data protection.

No other third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking libraries are used.

7. Local Data Storage

The Application stores data locally on the device using:

Encrypted secure storage (expo-secure-store): for the Technician ID and authentication tokens.
Local SQLite database (expo-sqlite): for offline storage of maintenance records pending synchronization.

Data stored locally is protected by the device's hardware-level encryption where available.

8. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade Personal Data to third parties.

We may share data only in the following circumstances:

With authorized Service Providers: Losant, as described in Section 6, to operate the backend infrastructure of the Application.
Within the Company: With EDGE SA personnel who need access to maintenance records for operational and supervisory purposes.
Legal requirements: If required by applicable law, court order, or governmental authority.
Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of Company assets, data may be transferred to the acquiring entity under equivalent privacy protections.

9. Data Retention

Authentication tokens: Stored on-device for the duration of the active session. Cleared upon logout or uninstallation.
Maintenance records: Retained for as long as required by EDGE SA's operational and legal obligations (typically up to 5 years for industrial maintenance records).
Usage logs and diagnostics: Retained for up to 24 months.

Upon termination of a technician's relationship with EDGE SA, account data will be deactivated promptly and deleted within 24 months, unless legal obligations require longer retention.

10. Data Security

We implement reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect Personal Data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include:

Encrypted local storage for sensitive authentication credentials.
HTTPS/TLS for all data transmission between the Application and backend servers.
Access controls limiting data access to authorized EDGE SA personnel.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

We follow industry-standard best practices for mobile application security and data protection.

11. International Data Transfers

Data processed by the Application may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside Argentina. Where such transfers occur, We take reasonable steps to ensure your data receives equivalent protection, including through contractual safeguards with Service Providers.

12. Your Rights

As a user of the Application, you have the right to:

Access the Personal Data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Request deletion of your Personal Data (subject to legal retention requirements).
Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
Withdraw consent for data collected based on consent (e.g., location, camera), by revoking the permission in device settings.

13. Children's Privacy

The Application is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect any data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided data through the Application, please contact us immediately and we will delete that information.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated to users via in-app notification or email where feasible. Continued use of the Application after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
